Correct selection of explosion-proof motors for coal mines

Coal mine underground operations have complex and harsh working conditions, harsh environments, and loads that vary with geological conditions. The scope of operations is limited, and there are risks such as collisions, impacts, and falls. There are also adverse conditions such as moisture, water, oil, and emulsions that can affect the electric motor, as well as the risk of gas and coal dust explosions and large vibrations during equipment operation. How to ensure that the motor does not have accidents during operation is crucial for the correct selection of the motor. Therefore, the selection of electric motors must fully consider the above working environment and conditions, so that the motor itself is suitable for the requirements of the working environment and conditions in terms of structure, performance, etc. Therefore, when selecting an electric motor, the following principles should be considered:
Explosion proof motors should be selected with matching power, voltage, speed, starting torque, and overload capacity based on the working characteristics and environmental conditions of the transmission machinery. Due to the presence of gangue and uneven hardness and softness in the coal seams cut by the coal mining machine, overloading of the electric motor during operation often occurs. The conveyor belt, especially the scraper conveyor belt on the rotary working face, often starts with overload and suddenly accumulates or rolls coal blocks during operation. Therefore, overload phenomena often occur. Therefore, a high starting torque explosion-proof motor should be selected.
Explosion proof motors must be products that have been inspected and approved by a nationally recognized inspection unit, and have obtained an explosion-proof certificate and production license, as well as a downhole certificate issued by the Coal Safety Office of the National Coal Mine Supervision Bureau.
Based on the principles of safe operation, convenient maintenance, advanced technology, and economic rationality, a comprehensive analysis is conducted and scientifically selected.
