Problems in the use, maintenance, and overhaul of explosion-proof motors used in coal mines

1. When water is poured into the mine tunnel, the insulation of the electric motor decreases due to moisture, and the explosion-proof surface is severely corroded. It continues to be used without drying.
The explosion-proof motor used in the scraper conveyor of the mining face is often covered with coal dust, causing poor heat dissipation of the motor.
3. Carelessness during underground transportation in coal mines resulted in damage to the motor fan cover and parts; The falling rocks or coal blocks flatten the fan cover of the electric motor, causing friction between the fan and the fan cover; Coal stones fell into the fan cover of the electric motor, causing damage to the fan during motor operation.
4. The installation of the conveyor belt is unstable, resulting in severe vibrations during operation.
5. The rubber sealing ring inside the cable entry device of the motor junction box has aged and lost its elasticity. After the terminal block is tightened, there is a gap between the cable and the sealing ring; The fastening bolts and spring washers are missing, and the joint surface between the motor outlet box and the machine base is not tightly connected, resulting in a loss of explosion-proof performance.
6. The motor bearings are worn, and the axial and radial clearances increase. During operation, the shaft moves in series, and the explosion-proof clearance at the joint between the shaft and the inner cover increases. The minimum unilateral clearance does not meet the requirements of explosion-proof standards.
The above problems should be highly valued by the competent authorities. Only by strengthening scientific management, using explosion-proof motors reasonably, regularly maintaining and repairing them, and always keeping them in good condition can explosion-proof motors operate safely and reliably in coal mines.
